Water & Sanitation program
"Clean Water. Sustainable Solutions. Lasting Impact."
At Hadhreen, we believe that access to clean water is a basic human right, and one of the most powerful tools for achieving health, dignity, and sustainability. Our Water Projects program is designed to directly support Sudan’s communities by improving water access while actively contributing to global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate resilience.
Through innovation rooted in simplicity and environmental responsibility, we ensure our efforts are sustainable, scalable, and deeply impactful.
“Reliable Water, Powered by the Sun”
Access to water shouldn’t be a privilege. Yet in many parts of Sudan, daily water collection is a burden—especially for women, children, and rural communities. Our Water Stations Project aims to provide consistent, reliable, and eco-friendly water access through the construction and rehabilitation of fully equipped water stations.
Core Features:
Each water station is designed to be independent, durable, and energy-efficient, typically including:
– Drilling of an Artesian Well: A deep source of clean groundwater
– Installation of a Water Storage Tank: For continuous availability
– Installation of a Submersible Pump: Efficient water extraction
– Solar Energy System: Used in areas without access to the public grid, reducing reliance on diesel or other polluting sources
Station Upgrades & Eco-Conversions:
We also revitalize existing water stations by implementing sustainable upgrades such as:
– Replacing Diesel Generators with Solar Energy Systems
– Maintenance and Repair of Aging Wells
– Expansion with Additional Water Tanks for High-Demand Areas
By transitioning to solar power and eliminating diesel use, we not only reduce carbon emissions—we also slash operational costs, making these stations more sustainable for the long term.
“Clean Water, Naturally Chilled. Energy-Free. Disease-Free.”
In regions where temperatures soar and resources are limited, the availability of cool, safe drinking water is more than a luxury, it’s a lifeline. Our Natural Cooling Systems Project brings simple innovation to everyday settings, offering natural drinking water coolers in public spaces.
How Natural Coolers Works:
– This low-tech system is based on the principle of heat exchange.
– It requires no external power source, making it perfect for off-grid or resource-scarce locations.
– As water flows through the cooler, it’s naturally chilled by the surrounding air, often reaching refreshing temperatures.
Primary Installations:
– Public Schools: Enhancing children’s access to clean, cool water
– Mosques: Installed upon donor request to serve congregants
Health Impact:
– Promotes Hygiene: Encourages direct drinking from the outlet, reducing the need for shared cups
– Prevents Seasonal Illnesses: Helps mitigate the spread of infections, especially during cold seasons when shared cups can become a health hazard
Water is more than just a resource, it’s the foundation for life, health, and opportunity.
With these projects, Hadhreen is:
– Fighting water scarcity in underserved communities
– Promoting environmental sustainability through renewable energy
– Reducing public health risks with clean and accessible infrastructure
– Empowering local populations to thrive, not just survive
Every water station drilled, every solar panel installed, and every school cooler set up is made possible through your support. Together, we can quench thirst, restore dignity, and build a more sustainable future for Sudan.
